Course Description
This studio course aims to develop students’ understanding of the relationships between form, space, and users through a holistic approach by transferring their fundamental design knowledge and skills into the scale of spatial design. Within the scope of the course, spatial organization, space-defining elements, horizontal and vertical circulation, stair and ramp design, ergonomics, and environmental conditions are addressed as fundamental components of interior design. Students transform abstract and tangible design concepts into interior space solutions at different scales while integrating geometric systems, spatial perception, and design principles. The design process is supported through freehand drawing, model-making, and digital representation techniques. Students learn to develop functional, aesthetic, and user-oriented spatial proposals and critically evaluate their design decisions.
