Program Description

The bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance provides theoretical, conceptual, technical, and practical knowledge in managing the financial function in every organization: financial or non-financial, private or public, large or small, profit-seeking or not-for-profit. This degree is highly specialized: the curriculum requires study sufficient for professional practice in financial accounting, intermediate accounting, cost accounting, management accounting, international financial reporting standards, auditing, financial management, financial markets and institutions, investments, financial statement analysis, international finance and corporate finance. The curriculum also includes intermediate coursework in business law, international law, and economics, and general coverage of management theory, business mathematics, and statistics. Practical classes will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed in real-life business, including analyzing and auditing the financial statements of companies.

Recognition Of Prior Learning

At Cyprus International University, full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related bylaws. Suppose the content of a course previously taken at another institution is equivalent to the course offered at CIU. In that case, the student may be exempted from this course, pending approval from the relevant faculty/graduate school following an evaluation of the course content.

Upon graduation with BSc. in Accounting and Finance, students will:

Program Profile

The bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance is aimed to prepare students for careers as accountants, auditors, financial executives, consultants, and lecturers. Also provides theoretical, conceptual, technical, and practical knowledge in managing the financial function in every organization: financial or non-financial, private or public, large or small, profit seeking or not for profit.

In order to graduate from the undergraduate program, it is necessary to succeed in all of the courses listed in the curriculum of the program by getting the grade at least D/ S with a minimum 240 ECTS (165 in national credits) and to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00

  • Successful completion of all program courses, with a minimum grade of “D”  in credited courses, and a grade of “S” in non-credit courses.


  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.

    TR Applicants

    Students in Türkiye who are successful in the exams conducted by the Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and are entitled to enroll in our university in line with their preferences can complete the registration process with the necessary documents for registration. Registration can be done through our Registration and Liaison Offices throughout Türkiye or from the Registrar’s Office on our campus.


    TRNC Applicants

    TRNC citizens and TR citizen candidate students who have completed their entire high school education in the TRNC are placed in undergraduate programs according to their success in the CIU Student Placement and Scholarship Ranking Exam and their program preferences.
    Students who are successful in the exam can register through the TRNC Marketing Office.


    International Applicants

    International applicants can directly apply online to our undergraduate programs using the application portal.

    Occupational Profiles of Graduates

    After completion of the Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, students will have excellent job opportunities in accounting and finance sectors such as accounting and financial consultancy companies, independent auditing institutions, banks, finance companies, stock exchange intermediaries and brokerage houses, public finance institutions and accounting and finance departments of business enterprises. Graduates will also have a chance to work as a Certified Public Accountants and/or Certified Financial Officers., auditors, consultants, lecturers, pursue professional accountant status or work as financial officer. On the other hand, our program also prepare our students to excel academically and pursue an academic career by completing our master and PhD programs.

    The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the “Syllabus” prepared by the relevant faculty member(s) and included in the Information Package. Regarding exams and course grades, relevant articles of the Cyprus International University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied.
