Program Profile
The IT Security undergraduate program at Cyprus International University is an interdisciplinary academic pathway focused on protecting digital systems, networks, and data in an increasingly connected and threat-prone world. Offered under the School of Applied Sciences, the program is designed to develop security professionals who can identify vulnerabilities, design secure architectures, and lead efforts in digital risk management and cyber defense.
This program combines theoretical foundations with practical application across key cybersecurity domains such as network and information systems security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cloud security, and cybersecurity governance. With an emphasis on both technical competence and strategic thinking, students learn to analyze, implement, and manage security solutions that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
In the program, courses are delivered through an integrated mix of lectures, case studies, hands-on labs, and scenario-based exercises. Students engage in hands-on learning through lab work, simulations, security assessments, and collaborative projects. A mandatory 30-day industry internship allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world environments, gaining professional insight into contemporary security practices and workplace dynamics.
Graduates of the IT Security program are equipped with the skills, ethical awareness, and resilience needed to lead cybersecurity initiatives and protect digital infrastructure across industries and sectors in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
