Program Profile

The Management Information Systems (MIS) bachelor’s Program is an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates people, technology, systems theory, and information management to address the evolving needs of the modern business world. Established in 2008 under the School of Applied Sciences, the program aims to cultivate professionals who can effectively use information systems to enhance decision-making, solve complex organizational problems, and optimize business functions.

The MIS bachelor’s program equips students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills required to design, manage, and implement information systems in business environments. The curriculum is structured around core areas such as management and organization, information systems and technologies, database systems, systems analysis and design, and business intelligence. Emphasis is placed on combining managerial knowledge with technological expertise to prepare students for roles at the intersection of business and IT.

Throughout the four-year program, students are encouraged to engage in interdisciplinary learning and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Hands-on experiences are embedded into the curriculum through project-based courses, internships, and industry collaborations. In particular, students participate in practical projects and a mandatory 30-day internship, allowing them to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

The teaching methodology in the MIS program prioritizes active learning, critical thinking, and teamwork. Faculty members serve as mentors, guiding students through collaborative projects and applied research that enhance their understanding of how technology supports strategic business goals. Courses are delivered through a mix of lectures, computer lab sessions, case studies, and simulation-based assignments, nurturing a dynamic and interactive educational environment.

In support of academic development, the program continuously expands its educational resources, including access to digital libraries, databases, and specialized software tools. The MIS program prepares its graduates to become competent, adaptable professionals capable of driving innovation and digital transformation in various organizational settings.
