Aim:
The CIU Industrial Engineering Program aims to develop graduates into pioneering individuals capable of planning, control, system analysis and development, and management tasks, as well as conducting scientific research, with the necessary leadership, self-confidence, and communication skills for national and international studies. Our aim is to equip our graduates with the ability to identify and define problems, plan solution stages, and propose alternative solutions using a systems approach in the manufacturing and service sectors. To support the program's practical work, Ergonomics, Integrated Manufacturing, and Simulation Laboratories are available to students throughout their undergraduate education. CIU Industrial Engineering graduates can analyze complex problems and select, use, or develop the necessary tools for their solutions. They can also design processes and systems and implement their designs using the necessary tools.
Objectives:
The objectives of the CIU Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program are:
● Continuing their professional and personal development by embracing lifelong learning;
● Ability to carry out planning and management tasks with the necessary leadership, self-confidence, and communication skills in national and international endeavors;
● Ability to identify and define problems using a systems approach in their production and service sectors, plan solution phases, and generate alternative solutions, enabling them to work domestically and internationally.
To train Industrial Engineers.

Admission to the International Cyprus University via transfer is conducted according to the principles set forth in the International Cyprus University Regulations on Education, Training, Examinations and Evaluation. The foreign language proficiency of students wishing to transfer from outside the university is determined by examinations administered by the School of Foreign Languages.
For students admitted to the University via the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) and transfer methods, the processing of courses taken in previous higher education semesters is carried out in accordance with the decisions made by the higher boards.
Exemption and equivalency procedures for courses taken at previous universities are carried out within the scope of the "CIU Exemption and Equivalency Procedures Directive".

Program Educational Objectives
Program Profile
An Industrial Engineer is someone who provides the necessary information support to managers at all levels in the management and decision-making stages, using scientific methods. Therefore, an Industrial Engineer can work in all organizations operating in the public, commercial, service, design, industrial, health, and even military fields. In addition, graduates can pursue a master's degree in any subject related to Industrial Engineering. In addition to the courses in our program curriculum, our students visit factories through organized technical trips; they have the opportunity to improve themselves by making presentations abroad with the project studies they have prepared.
Essentially, the vision of the CIU Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program is to provide its graduates with an education that enables them to serve in all areas of Industrial Engineering, to equip them with the skills to conduct scientific research, and to be an internationally recognized program designed to enable them to become pioneering individuals through the continuous provision of excellent educational quality.
The Industrial Engineering curriculum is harmonized with theoretical, applied, and elective courses that provide students with the necessary qualifications. In fulfilling the functions of Industrial Engineering, students utilize not only field-specific courses but also computer science, fundamental sciences, management sciences, contemporary communication skills, and statistics and probability theories. In addition to theoretical skills, course projects, graduation projects, and two 20-day internships during the summer semesters reinforce knowledge and open doors to post-graduation job opportunities. Besides computer laboratories, an ergonomics laboratory focused on work studies and human-factor-based scientific experiments provides a suitable environment for students to enhance their knowledge and skills and to realize their designs. Our graduates are equipped to enable both the manufacturing and service sectors to function more effectively, efficiently, optimally, and with higher quality.
Admission and Graduation
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the Industrial Engineering Bachelor's program, students must successfully complete all courses totaling 240 ECTS credits with at least a D/S grade, complete two summer internships within the specified time and quality, fulfill the technical field trip reports and extracurricular training/seminar/workshop participation requirements prescribed by the department, and have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements And Regulations
Taking into account the "CIU Regulation on Associate and Undergraduate Education, Examination, and Evaluation Principles":
The planned duration of education for the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate program is 4 academic years, with a maximum of 7 academic years.
The total number of credit hours required for graduation is determined by the Senate-approved curriculum. To graduate, students must complete all courses in the program without receiving grades F, D-, or U. Graduation for students who successfully meet all graduation requirements and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 (out of 4.00) is finalized upon the recommendation of their respective Department and Faculty Boards and the decision of the Senate.
In addition, 240 ECTS credits are required for graduation, and students must complete two compulsory summer internships, defined as zero credits within the curriculum, within the specified duration and quality.
Specific Admission Requirements
According to the Cyprus International University Student Registration and Admission Regulations:
Registration conditions for students of Turkish nationality:
Students who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey (TC) are accepted to CIU through one of the following methods within the framework of the determined quotas: (a) Being placed in CIU’s associate or undergraduate programs through the exams organized by the Türkiye Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM); (b) Being placed in a program through special talent exams administered by CIU based on the scores of the exams administered by ÖSYM.
Admission Requirements for TRNC Nationals:
Students with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizenship are placed at CIU based on exam results within designated quotas.
Admission Requirements for Third-Country Students:

Employments and Occupational Profiles
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The Industrial Engineering Department of CIU has been working since 2018 to provide a clearer and more detailed professional profile of its graduates. This work has gained momentum with the university's recent Alumni Relations program. UKU Industrial Engineering graduates can work in all types of systems in the service or manufacturing sectors. Generally speaking, industrial engineers play significant roles in increasing productivity, designing efficient systems, and establishing and developing systems. Areas where our graduates currently work and/or could work include: systems analysis, modeling and optimization, operations management, product and process design, decision support and simulation systems, production planning, project management, inventory management and purchasing, finance, integrated manufacturing systems, computer-aided manufacturing, human resources management, supply chain management and logistics, research and development, total quality systems, ergonomics, etc.
Assessment and Learning
Exams, Assessment and Grading
Examinations, evaluation and grading are governed by the relevant articles of the CIU Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. Accordingly:
Exams:
Students are subject to midterm exams, in-term assignments, and final exams during their semesters. At least one midterm exam is held each semester. Midterm exam dates are determined by the Rectorate and announced along with the academic calendar when deemed necessary. In addition to midterm exams, short quizzes may be held without prior notice. Final exams are held at the locations and times determined and announced by the Rectorate. A student's final grade is determined by the instructor of the relevant course, taking into account the results of the midterm and final exams, in-term assignments, and attendance.
End-of-term grade evaluation is conducted in accordance with the same regulations. End-of-term grade evaluation is based not only on exams but also on all assessment tools, taking into account the student's work throughout the term.
The final letter grade printout becomes final when it is signed by the instructor, the Head of Department, and the Dean, respectively, and submitted to the Student Affairs Directorate.
More detailed information is available in the relevant articles of the International Cyprus University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.
Learning Taxonomy
The course learning outcomes have been developed based on the SOLO (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome) Taxonomy. Information regarding the ECTS credit calculation methodology and related guidelines can be accessed through the ECTS Commission webpage of Cyprus International University.
