Program Profile

The nursing department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at International Cyprus University began its education and training in the 2014–2015 academic year with 50 students and graduated its first bachelor's degree students in 2018. The department aims to educate nurses who provide health-promoting, disease-preventing, therapeutic, and supportive nursing care through "Planned Nursing Care" to individuals, families, and communities, work as an effective member of the healthcare team, and develop nursing practices through critical thinking and research.

In the department, education is conducted in line with the principle of health protection and patient-centered care, focusing on the latest developments in the field. In addition to the compulsory courses required by the program’s learning objectives, students are offered elective courses based on their interests, enabling them to gain both professional and personal development in terms of knowledge and skills. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to experience many professional skills in a well-equipped laboratory environment. After laboratory practices, the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program are solidified through practical experiences in various hospitals and institutions. The Nursing Department continues its bachelor’s-level education, which covers four years.
