Program Profile

The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation aims to instill a sense of scientific and social responsibility in its students, develop their critical thinking skills, and equip them with the ability to engage in education and research within an internationally recognized academic environment grounded in principles of equality, ethics, democracy, and secularism. Students are provided with both theoretical and practical foundational knowledge in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, alongside up-to-date educational practices.
One of the fundamental components of physiotherapy and rehabilitation education is hands-on practice. Therefore, in addition to classroom and lecture hall courses, there are three specially equipped laboratories dedicated to practical sessions. Furthermore, a Virtual Reality (VR) Anatomy Laboratory has been established to enable students to utilize new technologies while learning anatomy. Our department also houses the Healthy Living Center (SAYAM), where patient treatments are conducted. SAYAM significantly contributes to enhancing students’ experiences in patient assessment and treatment, developing practical skills during applied courses, and conducting research.
During the educational process, second- and third-year students undertake summer internships, while fourth-year students engage in fieldwork as part of their clinical practice. Collaborations with hospitals and private clinics have expanded the supervision of clinical internships and increased patient diversity. Protocols have been signed with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education to provide internship opportunities for our students.
Students who wish may also participate in double major or minor programs alongside their physiotherapy and rehabilitation studies.
The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Undergraduate Program has been accredited for five years, from 2025 to 2030, following an evaluation by AHPGS (Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences). Both the Turkish and English programs have been accepted as full members of the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE), which is expected to enhance student and academic staff mobility as well as international collaborations.
In addition to academic activities, our students actively participate in a wide range of social clubs and communities at the university, where they can develop themselves scientifically, culturally, artistically, and athletically, while keeping up with current developments.
