Program Profile
TheBachelor’s Degree Program in Plant Production and Technologies is a four-year undergraduate program designed to educate innovative, environmentally conscious agricultural engineers equipped with scientific knowledge in the field of plant production, which forms the backbone of the agricultural sector. The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at Cyprus International University (CIU), through its Department of Plant Production and Technologies, graduates future agricultural engineers with a philosophy rooted in ethical principles and a strong emphasis on international development. Since its establishment in the 2012–2013 academic year, the department has developed a distinctive identity in the field of agriculture, thereby creating a unique value in academic, professional, and societal domains.
The program is supported by a strong academic structure that incorporates a student-centered education model and extensive practical training opportunities. Through greenhouse, laboratory, garden, and field applications, as well as internships, students are able to transfer their theoretical knowledge into practical experience. In addition, subjects such as digital agriculture, precision farming systems, and environmentally friendly production techniques are also covered, enabling students to graduate with the ability to follow technological developments and integrate innovations into production processes. Moreover, students are offered opportunities to develop projects, conduct analyses, and participate in scientific research. This approach ensures that graduates are equipped with up-to-date professional knowledge and skills in the field of agricultural production, in line with scientific principles. They become professionals who can continuously learn and teach, produce, research, and apply knowledge; who are open to development and change; and who possess a broad perspective, strong self-confidence, and the ability to compete at both national and international levels. In doing so, they are empowered to contribute effectively to the welfare of society.
