Course Description

This course is a studio practice and continuation of GRAP 202, which aims to focus on Graphic design principles and contemporary awareness in visual communication, specifically on these areas: Environmental Graphic Design, way finding design, and information design. Students will be exposed to a survey of environmental graphic design to include way finding systems, signage, identity graphics, pictogram design, mapping and briefly introduction to info graphics. This course is concerned with the visual aspects of way finding, experiencing information through the context, communicating identity and information. Discourse will focus on form and user experience as it relates to information, environment and cultural context.
