Course Description

This course is a continuation of the STAT101 course, where students form the necessary basis for analyzing research problems in dentistry. Students will learn how to create research questions, decide the type of analysis for research problems, analyze data using SPSS, and report their results. Students will be able to use the SPSS program for constructing confidence intervals, the analysis of various hypothesis testing problems, such as independent and dependent sample t-test through dentistry-specific applications and examples. Composing hypotheses for comparing the averages of more than two populations in the SPSS program, making basic analyzes of these topics on dentistry-specific data sets are among the objectives of this course. In addition, students will have information about the evaluation of statistical risk measures and diagnostic tests.
