Course Description
Examination of novel and story authors of the Republic period and the structural and thematic processes of our stories. Determining the developmental lines of Turkish novel and stories of the Republic period. Text analysis of the develeopmental process of Turkish novel and stories since 1923 until today. Themes covered in novels, structural changes, and the literary personalities of these developments (Yakup Kadri, Halide Edip, Reşat Nuri, Peyami Safa, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, Adalet Ağaoğlu, Sabahattin İsmail, Yaşar Kemal, Orhan Kemal, Tağrık Buğra, Kemal Tahir, Oğuz Atay, Yusuf Atılgan, Orhan Pamuk, Tahsin Yücel, Leyla Erbil vd.) are analyzed along their works. Social and political issues of this period in Turkish novels are evaluated. Changes and developments in Turkish stories during the Repuplic period are analyzed.
