Course Description
This course includes such topics as bargaining, communication and propaganda, persuasion and conformity, prejudice, cooperation and competition, inter-group conflicts, helping behavior and altruism, aggression and attraction. Special emphasis is placed on the development of skills for a critical evaluation of information on social behavior and the impact of this behavior on daily life. The course provides examples for students that they can relate to their own daily life experiences which increase their understanding about the topics in particular and social psychology in general. Students get familiar with further topics and research issues in social psychology and increase responsibility and sensitivity in doing social psychological research.

- P01 Demonstrate an understanding of the core subfields of psychology — including but not limited to clinical, developmental, cognitive, social, and biological/neuroscientific psychology — and their interconnections with other scientific disciplines, critically evaluating the value of a multidisciplinary approach to scientific inquiry in psychology.
