Course Description

The aim of this course is to learn the status and importance of aesthetics in prosthetic dentistry. Students will gain knowledge about the issues such as the harmony of the intraoral restorations with the face area, their appearance during smile, relationship with the surrounding tissues such as lip, cheek, chin tip and nose, metal supported porcelain restorations, full ceramic crowns, laminate applications, tooth alignment in total partial and hybrid prosthesis, materials used in restorations, and their effects on color, coloring of the restorations, the proportions according to face and surrounding tissues with each other. They will learn and be able to apply porcelain and ceramic restorations in harmony with the other intraoral structures and also with lips chin and face. Students who take this course will be able to predict and evaluate the final aesthetics before planning and fabrication of prosthetic rehabilitation.
