Course Description

Definition and importance of mathematics in early childhood, principles and standards in mathematics education; techniques and methods of teaching mathematical concepts and scientific thinking skills; mathematics education and play; mathematics programs (Building Blocks, STEM, GEMS (Big Maths for Little Kids), acquisition of basic mathematical concepts, problem solving, matching-comparison-classification-sorting-pattern formation, numbers and counting, teaching the concept of numbers stages, symbols, operations, geometry, location, measurement, data analysis-graphics / probability, planning and implementation of mathematics activities, mathematics activities in preschool education program, planning activities to develop positive attitudes towards mathematics in children, transferring mathematical skills to daily life activities planning, recommendations to parents to support the development of basic mathematical skills in the child's home environment.
