Course Description

The aim of this course is to examine mechanics and mechanics of body tissues and joints, movements and forces that give rise to these movements in mechanical laws, comparing them to pathological states of the musculoskeletal system. Analyzes of movement, kinetic and kinematic analysis of healthy, patient and disability, kinesiology of body tissues and joints, musculoskeletal pathologies. The student attaining this course gains the ability to evaluate and analyze movements in individuals with diseases that are related to the musculoskeletal system. Gain the ability to interpret and use what can be done in terms of increasing the success of rehabilitation, which is healthy and has diseases related to musculoskeletal system.

Week 1 Introduction to the seminar course, thesis expectations, and choosing a physiotherapy research topic.
Week 2 Advanced literature search strategies, using academic databases, and reference management tools.
Week 3 Writing a comprehensive literature review and identifying research gaps in physiotherapy.
Week 4 Formulating a clear research question, aims, hypotheses, and study objectives-1
Week 5 Formulating a clear research question, aims, hypotheses, and study objectives-2
Week 6 Research methodology part 1: Quantitative and qualitative study designs in rehabilitation.
Week 7 Research methodology part 2: Outcome measures, participant selection, inclusion criteria, and sample size.
Week 8 Ethical considerations in clinical research, informed consent, and applying for institutional review board (IRB) approval.
Week 9 Data collection procedures, data management protocols, and statistical analysis planning.
Week 10 Structuring the formal written thesis proposal, budgeting, and project timelines (Gantt charts).
Week 11 Student presentations: Preliminary draft proposal defense and peer feedback session 1.
Week 12 Student presentations: Preliminary draft proposal defense and peer feedback session 2.
Week 13 Refining the proposal based on feedback, addressing limitations, and final submission formatting.
