Course Description

Definition and objectives of the course aiming to educate the nurses who have acquired basic knowledge of microbiology and microorganisms, know infectious diseases caused by microorganisms, factors, prevention and treatment principles, understand the importance of sterilization and disinfection concepts and use them in their applications. Structure, appearance, classification and nomenclature of microorganisms; bacterial and viral structures and important bacterial and viral groups in human health will identified; structure of fungi and important fungus groups; the structure of parasites and important parasite groups in human health; microbial-host relationships, definition and transmission patterns of infection; flora definition, normal flora of body parts; taking samples of the disease and sending it to the laboratory; ımmune and body defense mechanisms; antigens and antibodies; vaccines and serums; hospital infections and control of that infectiond will explained in the scope of that course.
