Course Description

The basic aim of the summer internship is to ensure that the students have the necessary knowledge and skills using the lessons they have learned in theory. Internships, which can be a preparation for the professional education of the students, constitute an important part of the curriculum. Surgical diseases nursing summer internship II program, observations of a nurse and clinical practice will be carried out in order to consolidate care information for the surgical diseases in the classes. The surgical diseases seen in the lectures will be able to find the opportunity to be found in clinical settings where applications related to adult and elderly health and problems can be done. It is a four-week program and the practice reports will be submitted to the department management for evaluation. Success evaluation of the course will be enough or insufficient to enter the grading system.

Week 1 Demonstrate safe and effective nursing care under supervision, following ethical and legal principles of professional practice.
Week 2 Apply theoretical nursing knowledge to real patient situations across diverse clinical settings and Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social aspects, and accurately document findings.
Week 3 Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patients’ identified needs using evidence-based practice.
Week 4 Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
