Course Description

FREN202 is an elementary level French language course which aims to facilitate recognition and production by students of basic written and oral expressions used for describing themselves, others and their immediate environment through these concepts : expressions for discovering a city and describing one’s impressions of a city/a neighborhood (places in /patrimony of a city, its climate), demonstrative adjectives, choosing a means of public transportation, asking about/giving directions/an itinerary, verbs of movement, inquiring on places/events to see/attend(prices, opening hours etc.), formal and colloquial question phrases, adjectives of appreciation, adverbs of orientation, describing a future event using the auxiliary verb aller (future proche), proposing and accepting/refusing and outing (can, must, want), reserving housing/transportation services , the conditional for polite requests (I would like to).

Course outcomes

  1. 01 1-be able to process necessary verbs in dative case and their conjugation and construct sentences relating them to given situations
  2. 02 2- be able to categorise personal pronouns in the accusative case and reflect them on their personal situations.
  3. 03 3- be able to express themselves using comparative and suprlative forms of adjectives and integrate them into their personal situations.
  4. 04 4- be able to construct sentences based on the question words.
  5. 05 5- be able to differentiate the prepositions according to the dative case.
  6. 06 SOLO AVERAGE=[(3+4)/2+(4+5)/2+(3+4)/2+4+4]/5=3,9
