Course Description
This course aims to enable students to integrate their accumulated knowledge of design, construction, materials, and technical systems acquired throughout previous semesters into a comprehensive application project. During the course, construction drawings, detail solutions, material selections, building systems, and technical coordination of interior architecture projects are developed. Students produce application details at different scales by considering project standards, current regulations, accessibility, sustainability, and user requirements. The contributions of digital modeling and artificial intelligence-supported technical evaluation tools to the design process are critically assessed. The course aims to develop students’ technical accuracy, interdisciplinary coordination, and application-oriented problem-solving skills for professional practice processes.

Course Syllabus
| Week | Topic |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Course Introduction and Project Brief. Introduction to the scope of the Integrated Interior Architecture Application Project, presentation of the hotel room project, explanation of the design and technical drawings to be developed throughout the semester, working methods, and assessment criteria. |
| Week 2 | Hotel Room Design Approach Presentations. Students define their personal design language; research the selected interior design approach in terms of color, material, texture, furniture, lighting, and detailing; and develop the initial conceptual and visual decisions for adapting this language to a hotel room. |
| Week 3 | Design Research and Product Selection in Line with the Selected Style. Research and selection of furniture, textiles, lighting elements, decorative objects, indoor plants, tableware and serving elements, wall and surface elements, bathroom accessories, and small-scale accessories. Determination of color, material, and texture decisions; justification of the relationship between selected products and the design language; and creation of a coherent product and material collection. |
| Week 4 | Translating the Concept into Spatial Design. Synthesis of research and product selections; development of the functional scheme and spatial organization of the hotel room. Resolution of the relationships between sleeping, working, resting, storage, and bathroom functions. Critique of initial plan alternatives. |
| Week 5 | Development of the Plan and Furniture Layout. Evaluation of ergonomics, circulation, furniture placement, built-in furniture, storage, and user requirements on the 1/50 scale plan. Translation of the selected design language into the spatial plan. |
| Week 6 | Development of Plans, Sections, and Three-Dimensional Design. Finalization of plan decisions; development of sections, vertical relationships, ceiling, lighting, material, and built-in furniture decisions. Critique of the 3D model. |
| Week 7 | Jury Week |
| Week 8 | Midterm Week |
| Week 9 | Midterm Week |
| Week 10 | Post-Midterm Revision and Transition to the Application Project. Incorporation of midterm feedback into the project. Revision of plans, sections, and elevations; identification of construction, material, and built-in furniture decisions to be represented in the technical drawings. |
| Week 11 | Sketch Exam |
| Week 12 | Technical Drawings and Detailed Area Studies. Transition from the general 1/50 scale project to 1/20 scale detailed plans, sections, and elevations. Development of built-in furniture, ceiling, flooring, wall, and lighting solutions. |
| Week 13 | Detail and Material Solutions. Development of technical details at 1/20, 1/10, 1/5, and, where necessary, 1/1 scales. Technical resolution of furniture, material junctions, surface transitions, and building components. |
| Week 14 | Integration of the Application Project and Final Preparation. Coordination of plans, sections, elevations, detailed drawings, material decisions, and technical presentation boards. Identification of missing components and preparation for the final presentation. |
| Week 15 | Jury Week |
