Course Description

This studio course aims to develop students’ three-dimensional thinking and design development skills for creating user-oriented, functional, and aesthetic interior spaces. Within the scope of the course, the relationships between structure, space, form, ergonomics, materials, color, texture, lighting, and building systems are examined through a holistic design approach. Through small-scale interior design problems, students analyze user requirements, develop design concepts, and generate spatial organization solutions. Site and existing building analyses, environmental data, and functional requirements are integrated into the design process, while freehand drawing, model-making, and digital representation techniques are utilized. Emerging digital technologies and artificial intelligence-supported design tools are critically employed as supportive instruments for research, exploration, and alternative idea-generation processes.
