Course Description
This course aims to develop students’ observational skills and enable them to accurately and effectively represent objects and spaces through freehand drawing. The course covers fundamental drawing principles such as line, proportion, composition, perspective, volume, light and shadow, and texture through practical exercises. Students learn to observe the formal characteristics of natural and artificial objects and use basic drawing tools, particularly pencils, to represent their observations. Exercises designed to improve eye–brain–hand coordination support the transformation of visual perception into drawing. The course aims to develop students’ observational drawing skills and provide the fundamental representation and expression competencies required for subsequent design studios and visual communication courses.
