Course Description

Building upon the concepts learned in Visual perception and Design, this course presents a new challenge to the student: to use art and design methodologies for the creation of virtual worlds, interactivities and environments. Within this scope this course introduces and expands the concepts, aesthetics, and techniques and the impact of technology and new media critical to the exploration and authoring of interactive art and design works. The conceptual framework of the course includes an understanding of the psychological and cultural/social contexts of interactive media access, media ecologies, content composition, sensing of physical environments, spatial narrativity and venue development.

Learning Outcomes

  1. L01 Apply principles of interactive design, including usability, accessibility, consistency, feedback, and intuitive user experiences, to create visually appealing and engaging digital interfaces. SOLO 4
  2. L02 Design responsive interfaces that seamlessly adapt to different screen sizes and devices, ensuring an optimal user experience across platforms. SOLO 5
  3. L03 Combine various interaction design patterns and apply them effectively to their projects, enhancing the usability and familiarity of their interactive designs SOLO 3
  4. L04 Imitate a comprehensive interactive art and design project from concept to execution using Adobe XD, demonstrating their ability to incorporate all the learned principles and skills into a different concept design. SOLO 2
