Course Description
Measurement instruments used in education and their properties; instruments based on traditional approaches: Essay exams, short answer exams, true-false type tests, multiple choice tests, matching tests, oral examinations; instruments for getting multidimensional information about students: observation, interview, performance evaluation, portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer evaluation, self evaluation, attitude scales; levels of measurement (nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio levels); item and test statistics (item difficulty index, item reliability coefficient, item discrimination index, measures of central tendency, mean difficulty of test, variance and standard deviation of scores, skewness and curtosis of the distribution of scores), and measurement scale and scale (classification scale, ranking scale, equally spaced scales and ratio scales) aspects to be considered in assessing student achievement; evaluation of learning outcomes and grading.

Program Outcomes
- P01 1- make use of their professional training in language teaching and achieve effective classroom management,
- P02 2- carry out research on the development of their learners’ social, psychological and personal characteristics by using testing and evaluation techniques in accordance with ethical principles and then report their results.
- P03 3- conduct research using basic scientific research techniques with the aim to find solutions to problems that may be encountered in the field of Teaching English,
