Course Description

Making observations about teaching methods and techniques specific to the field; conducting individual and group micro-teaching applications using specific teaching methods and techniques specific to the field; field-specific activity and material development; preparing instructional environments, managing the classroom, measuring, evaluating and reflecting. Examination of the field-specific curriculum, preparing lesson plans, selecting materials, teaching activities, applications and activities planning, implementation and evaluation. Observing student teacher, observing and reporting school administrators in practice school. Presentation of the prepared reports in class and discussion. Preparing appropriate assessment methods for the gains in the classroom activities. Extracurricular activities planning, implementation and evaluation.

1. L01 Relates observational data concerning the physical and social structure of the practicum school and its administrative processes (school administrators, subject/grade-level teacher boards, administrative staff, and parents) to the quality of the educational environment and its effects on student learning. 2. L02 Compares the practicum teacher’s daily professional roles and classroom management strategies in terms of classroom management approaches (preventive, supportive, and corrective). SOLO 4
3. L03 Designs instructional adaptations (activities, materials, and assessment) for students with special educational needs and typically developing students based on observational findings regarding their daily learning and participation processes. SOLO 5
4. L04 Plans an activity appropriate to the grade level and relevant to curriculum learning outcomes based on observed preparation processes for important days and weeks. SOLO 4
5. L05 Critically evaluates the teaching methods and techniques, instructional materials, and assessment practices used in different classrooms, providing justification based on their alignment with learning outcomes, the physical conditions of the classroom, and student participation. SOLO 5
