Course Description

Main characteristics of adolescence, psychosocial development processes and social work intervention in this field is the content of the course. Also the subject of social work with families in the context of national literature and practices is another important content. Main subjects of the course are: Child/youth welfare, children’s rights, legislations on children and youth, social work practices towards children and youth. Concepts of child and childhood, value of child, child policy of Turkey and Cyprus, United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights and children rights, legislations on children and youth, children on risk, communication with children and adolesence, practices towards children’s rights in Turkey and Cyprus, ınstitutional services towards children and youth and social work with children and youth will be taught in this course.
