FAMILY EDUCATION

Course Description

To be able to discuss the basic concepts related to the family. Subject include such as describe the basic aims, principles and methods of family education, to be able to define adaptation stages of disabled children's families. Investigate the ways in which families can help socialize the disabled child in the adjustment process. Planning family education sessions based on behavioral views: skills teaching, concept teaching. The characteristics of children with mental retardation, harmony stages of families of mentally retarded children, the importance of family participation in the education of mentally handicapped children, theoretical and legal bases, the rights and responsibilities of the families in the law, participation of the mentally retarded learners in the education process and teaching the family skills are taught.
