Course Description

This course is based around the theoretical and practical skills required for directing films and TV programs. The aim is to enable students to gain critical and creative ways of thinking and to create awareness about film production. This course integrates theory and practice to teach students production and directing stages (pre-production, production, and post-production), advanced principles and techniques, the director's duties and responsibilities, particularly their relationships with actors, production crew, designers, screenwriters, and production managers. After addressing the theories, knowledge, and skills necessary for directing films and TV, the course will end with the production and presentation of short video clips and films.
