Course Description
Examining Turkish Folk Literature narratives from a different perspective with conceptual and varietal terminology. Analyze narrative styles on bibliographic indexes on both written and visual sources. The general structure of poetic religious legends and its effects on literary works generated after the transition period. The formation of single centered legends, the developmental process, and their functions in Turkish folk literature narratives. Text and linquistic analyses on Battalnâme, Hamzanâme, Saltuknâme and Danişmendnâme, their importance within Turkish folk literature narratives, and establishing the connection between later formed types. The impact of Dede Korkut stories on Turkish folk literature narratives. Copies of these narratives and examination of these copies. Determining the place of Dede Korkut narratives in Turkish folk culture and the Turkish culture in general.
