Course Description
The course examines the historical development of what we know modern psychology to be as of today. While psychology is rooted in the philosophical orientations, the physiological roots are also explored. Schools like structuralism, functionalism, behaviorism, and cognitive sciences that are associated with the establishment modern psychology as a science. Not only are the influences of each school will be analyzed but also the prominent figures in history and modern day contemporary psychology will also be examined. In addition, the influence of historical psychology on modern day psychology will be covered and the development of new schools will be analyzed.
