Course Description

Within the scope of this course, basic approaches to social psychology, social psychology field and research methods, social perception and social cognition, theoretical approaches to attitudes and attitude change, psychological processes affecting social behavior, Information about the subjects that constitute the basis of this course and its section such as socialization, socialization, attachment (attribution) theory, social attraction, aggression, group dynamics and intergroup relations and interpersonal relations are explained in detail. This information, which is learned in detail within the scope of this lesson, will enable the students to have a chance to put it into practice in their professional life and to make their profession more productive in a more informed way

  1. P01 Demonstrate an understanding of the core subfields of psychology — including but not limited to clinical, developmental, cognitive, social, and biological/neuroscientific psychology — and their interconnections with other scientific disciplines, critically evaluating the value of a multidisciplinary approach to scientific inquiry in psychology.
  2. P02 Apply scientific methods, research techniques, measurement and psychometric principles (e.g., reliability, validity, scale development/adaptation), and quantitative/statistical reasoning to investigate psychological phenomena, recognizing methodological strengths, limitations, common reasoning fallacies, and the flaws of pseudoscience.
  3. P03 Employ logical, intuitive, and creative thinking to analyze psychological concepts, evaluate theories (including their historical and philosophical development), synthesize information, and solve complex problems related to cognition and behavior.
