Course Description
Student who is successful in the proficiency exam can diagnose and treat partial and complete edentulous patients by using current knowledge and technologies within an evidence-based framework. Student defines tooth preparation rules and applies the principles of tooth preparation in different restoration types, fabricates temporary restorations, knows about porcelain fused to metal restorations, understands the concept of dental occlusion, diagnoses the patient using the necessary examination techniques for TMJ. Student learns and practices laboratory and clinical procedures for tooth supported fixed partial dentures and removable partial dentures. Student performs the diagnosis, treatment and follow–up of patients who apply to Prosthetic Dentistry Clinic, supports clinical studies of the Prosthodontic Dentistry program, acts as an assistant lecturer in the undergraduate education of the Faculty of Dentistry.
