Course Description

The aim of this course is to teach both phycological and pathological situations of gnathological systems, normal and parafunctional relationships of the jaws and occlusion, and the basic clinical approach required for diagnosis and treatment of TMJ disorders. In the direction of this information, the main outcome is to reveal the necessary treatment plan and have the knowledge and skills to perform the non-invasive of treatment, including especially splint therapies. The students responsible for this course determine the patient's problem and diagnose the disease as a result of the necessary examination techniques for both TMJ and muscles. Students know and apply how to select the splint types for specific dysfunctions and manufacture reliable splints.
