Course Description
The aim of this course is to teach treatment types and clinical applications from the simplest to the most comprehensive applied in the correction of lost or deteriorated aesthetics by fixed partial dentures. Students comprehend prosthetic treatment planning; define tooth preparation rules and apply the principles of tooth preparation in different restoration types; fabricate temporary restorations, know impression materials, and apply impression techniques, know, and apply model preparation and wax modeling techniques for fixed partial dentures; know about porcelain fused to metal restorations; understand dental occlusion concept and temporomandibular joint problems associated with FPDs, deal with the complications and with the complaints of the patients related with FPDs; know the use of the fully adjustable articulators and facebow transfer procedure.
