Course Description

The main aim of the course is to provide general information about drugs that are frequently used in the field of physiotherapy. A brief introduction about pharmacology, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and drug treatment principles, principles of drug effect, factors affecting drug effects, drug delivery route, drug-receptor relationship, drug absorption, distribution and release, drug metabolism, toxic-undesirable effects are given. At the end of the course, the students will be able to define the basic concepts in pharmacology and toxicology, learn the mechanisms of pharmacological agents and biologic responses they create, gain the basic knowledge of evaluating the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of effective drugs in organ systems, side effects of these drugs and basic pharmacological knowledge in the direction of physiotherapy applications.
