Course Description

In this course, utilisation principles of electrotherapy devices used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, types of electrical stimulation and currents used in treatment, application methods, physiological effects, electrodiagnostic tests and demonstration of sample applications are taught. Students are expected to know biophysical and physiological basics of low-frequency currents; to apply low frequency currents according to biophysical and physiological basics in different pathologies; to apply and choose convenient electrotherapy methods in physiotherapy sections; use electrodiagnosis in follow-up of healing; to know the risks that may occur during the implementation of low frequency currents and to be able to protect against possible damages by using proper low frequency currents tools and equipments.
