Course Description
The course covers the terminology of normal development, embryonic growth, pre and post-natal developmental steps of reflexes, motor, sensory-perceptional and cognitive abilities, evolution of postural reactions, fundamentals of motor development in neonatal, infant and toddler stages, study of the development from early childhood to late teenage. Normal movement and functional development of the relevant terminology and concepts, theories of development, normal and abnormal movements and the development of functions, reflexes and sensory development, motor development stages, correction, protection and balance reactions, postural reactions will be examined in detail. Students taking this course learn normal muscle tone, distinguish dysfunction and joint contractures; list normal motor development; discuss the evidence of abnormal motor development.
