Course Description
Site preparation, excavation and levelling, and mud pond design will be the main topics to be covered in this course. Detailed analysis of characteristics of rock types to be drilled, operation parameters related with the drilling mechanism and utilization of optimum parameters in drill hole design will also be discussed. Drilling mud characteristics and related field laboratory analysis will also be covered. Hoisting system analysis according to depth and drill hole design, and relevant manufacturing details will be discussed in detail. Cutting tools and manufacturing details, drilling cost analysis and idle trip time analysis will also be studied. Equipment standards and measurements, and equipment types such as stabilizers, subs, DP and DC will also be topics to be covered.
