Course Description
The purpose of this course is to meet psychology students with the general psychology and to give basic information which will provide them to get over the spesific courses they will take next years. “Scientific approach” will be discussed as either general or specified on the science of psychology and it will be provided that psychology students will approach to psychology subjects and problems with the scientific attitudes. It will be provided that they will fall into a habit of analyse assumptions based on the concrete evidences and it will be emphasized that they should avoid emotional act. Therefore, their ability to think critically will be strengthened. In this sense, students will understand the methods of the science of psychology and they will learn the sub-branches of psychology.

- 01 Identify (2) the main perspectives of psychology including behaviourism, cognitive theory and Gestalt theories
- 02 Explain (4) the content and methods of different fields of psychological science such as health psychology, developmental psychology and cognitive psychology.
