Course Description
This course is designed to prepare undergraduate nursing students with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required to deliver safe, comprehensive, and patient-centered nursing care in home and community settings. The course emphasizes the principles and practice of home healthcare across the lifespan, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, rehabilitation, chronic disease management, palliative and end-of-life care, and support for individuals and families receiving care in their homes. The course also addresses interdisciplinary collaboration, communication with patients and caregivers, ethical and legal considerations, cultural competence, documentation, and coordination of care across healthcare settings. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to provide evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and holistic nursing care that promotes health, independence, dignity, and continuity of care for individuals and families in home and community settings.
