Course Description

The aim of this course is to gain the ability to recognize common problems in plastic surgery, to decide for solutions and to offer suggestions. The objective of this course is to give clinical experience to medical students in plastic and reconstructive surgery including wound healing, principles of plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate, breast reconstruction, principles of hand surgery and microsurgery, pressure ulcers, principles of tissue transfers, graft and flaps, compartment syndrome The course also includes the following topics; atraumatic method for good wound healing, grafts, flaps, Z-plasty, repair step, maxillofacial injuries (first approach to the patient, soft tissue injuries, fractures), congenital anomalies and pediatric plastic surgery (cleft lip-palate, congenital melanocytic nevus, vascular anomalies).
