Course Description
Students will build the capacity to approach patients with respiratory system problems, take anamnesis, perform a physical examination, and request appropriate examinations. Students will clinically encounter diseases of the lower parts of the respiratory system such as pneumonia, pleurisy, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, lung cancers, pleural diseases, mediastinal diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), and asthma. Students will learn the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory system diseases at the primary level. They will be able to refer the patient to higher health centers at the right time for diseases that cannot be diagnosed in primary care and will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to prevent respiratory system diseases.
