PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW-II

Course Description

In this course, students will learn application of international private law in personal law, family law, lineage law, inheritance law, property law and law of obligations. In addition, form and statute of limitations in legal proceedings and the lex fori principle in international procedural law will be discussed. In the second part, students will learn about qualification, relationship with substantive law, international rules of jurisdiction, Turkish international system of jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgements of foreign courts. In the last part, international arbitration, enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, international legal aid and the issues concerning rights of the foreigners to work in Turkey, to own real estate and to inheritance, and international arbitration proceedings will be explained with a comparative perspective.
