Course Description
This course aims to develop theoretical and empirical background of the students in relation to the political, cultural, economic and security affairs of the countries which are members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Thus and so the project of Euro-Mediterranean Partnership will be analyzed within the framework of both traditional and critical theories by referring to the three constitutive phases (security and political cooperation, economic cooperation and cultural dialogue) as well as by assessing certain case studies. The relations between the EU and the Euromed States will also be highlighted.

Course outcomes
- 01 To develop the knowledge and understanding of the awareness of the ways in which mainstream views of security issues at local, national, regional and international levels interrelate with each other.
- 02 To categorize the interrelationship between the political, security, socio-economic, and cultural “Partnership”
- 03 To Asses the distinction between governmental, media and scholarly discourse on the Mediterranean area.
- 04 To assess the contending interpretations of apparent and claimed reasons for conflict and instability in the Mediterranean area.
- 05 To Evaluate the intertwining between domestic and external determinants in shaping regional order in connection with world politics.
- 06 To compare process of regional building with the political agenda of the interested actors.
