Course Description

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, institutions, and practices of international criminal law. It introduces students to the legal dimensions of core international crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. The course examines the structure, functioning, and jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC), ad hoc tribunals, and hybrid courts. It also addresses state responsibility, individual criminal accountability under international law, and the relationship between international criminal law and human rights. The course equips students with both theoretical knowledge and the ability to analyze contemporary cases and developments.
