Course Description

This course aims to enable students to experience the creative furniture design process as an integrated approach from conceptual development to prototype production. Within the scope of the course, function, ergonomics, anthropometry, material selection, construction techniques, production technologies, and aesthetic principles are addressed collectively. Students develop original design solutions for different usage scenarios, including residential, office, public, and urban furniture applications. They improve and present their designs by utilizing digital modeling, prototyping, and contemporary production methods. The course aims to enable students to produce creative and applicable furniture solutions by evaluating design decisions in accordance with safety, durability, sustainability, and ethical design principles.

Week 2 1. Aşama — Araştırma ve Problem Tanımlama Sunumları. Hedef kullanıcı, kullanım ortamı, kullanıcı ihtiyacı/problem, iki işlev arasındaki ilişki, mevcut ürünler, güçlü-zayıf yönler, tasarımın farklılaşma potansiyeli ve anahtar kelimelerin değerlendirilmesi.
Week 3 2. Aşama — Referans Mobilya Araştırması ve Analizi Sunumları. Beş referans mobilyanın işlev, dönüşüm prensibi, mekanizma, strüktür, birleşim, malzeme, üretim yöntemi, ergonomi ve güçlü/zayıf yönler açısından analiz edilmesi. Araştırma sonucunda anahtar kelimelerin geliştirilmesi.
Week 4 3. Aşama — Konsept ve Tasarım Yaklaşımının Geliştirilmesi. Araştırma sonuçlarının sentezlenmesi; problem tanımının netleştirilmesi; kullanıcı senaryosu, iki işlev arasındaki ilişki, konsept ve tasarım kriterlerinin oluşturulması. İlk eskizler ve alternatif fikirler üzerine kritik.
Week 5 Tasarım Alternatiflerinin Geliştirilmesi. Form, fonksiyon, ergonomi ve antropometri ilişkilerinin değerlendirilmesi. Alternatif tasarım önerileri, kullanım senaryoları ve dönüşüm hareketleri üzerine kritik.
Week 6 Tasarımın Teknik Geliştirilmesi. Seçilen tasarım alternatifinin geliştirilmesi; ölçüler, malzeme, strüktür, birleşim detayları ve dönüşüm mekanizmasının çözülmesi. 1:5 model ve teknik çizim hazırlıklarının değerlendirilmesi.
Week 7 Jüri Haftası
Week 8 Ara Sınav Haftası
Week 9 Ara Sınav Haftası
Week 10 Vize Sonrası Tasarım Revizyonu ve Üretim Planlaması. Jüri geri bildirimlerinin tasarıma aktarılması. 1:1 üretime yönelik teknik kararların gözden geçirilmesi; malzeme, birleşim, mekanizma ve üretim yöntemlerinin kesinleştirilmesi.
Week 11 Üretim Detaylarının Geliştirilmesi. 1:1 üretime yönelik uygulama çizimleri, ölçülendirme, malzeme listeleri, birleşim detayları ve üretim sıralamasının hazırlanması.
Week 12 Prototip / Üretim Süreci. Lefkoşa sanayide gerçekleştirilecek üretim sürecinin takibi; strüktür, birleşim ve mekanizma çözümlerinin değerlendirilmesi. Üretim sırasında ortaya çıkan problemlerin tasarım kararlarıyla çözülmesi.
Week 13 Üretim Süreci ve Ürün Geliştirme. 1:1 ürünün yapımı, mekanizma kontrolleri, ergonomik değerlendirme, malzeme ve detay çözümlerinin geliştirilmesi.
Week 14 Final Öncesi Ürün Geliştirme ve Son Kritikleri. Ürünün işlevsellik, dayanıklılık, ergonomi, detay, malzeme, yüzey ve estetik açıdan değerlendirilmesi; eksiklerin belirlenmesi ve final sunumunun hazırlanması.
Week 15 Jüri Haftası
