Course Description

At the beginning of the photography course enables students to use camera and photography as a medium of creating the visual message. They will effectively use photography as a means for self-expression or cultural comment. This class aims to provide students with a rigorous training in the mechanics of the digital camera: How cameras work, how composition works, how lighting works, how to use photo editing software. Students will, generally, receive basic instruction, demonstration, and see samples of the desired outcomes. Not only shooting and technical skills are stressed in this course, but also, critical issues surrounding photography as action, artistic medium, and cultural product through selected as readings and class discussions.
