Course Description

The aim of this course is to examine communication and marketing methods which health institutions prefer to use to reach foreign patients and to examine the channels that patients prefer to use to reach hospitals. In this course, students will understand the factors affecting the preferences of foreign patients, such as the reputation and brand values of countries and health organizations, price, quality service. They will learn the communication and marketing methods used by the countries, cities and health organizations. At the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of medical and health travel and will learn how medical travel services are marketed around the world, competition and best practices in different countries.

  6. 06 Can design and plan communication campaigns for health organizations and discuss the effectiveness of campaigns.
  7. 07 Compare the communication studies and methods used by institutions and countries in medical tourism and explain them with examples.
  8. 08 They can classify and outline what the corporations need to do in times of crisis.
  9. 09 Explain the importance of interpersonal communication in health, relate healthy lifestyles and organizations to achieve business objectives.

Week 2 The definitions and the importance of corporate communication, corporate reputation, building a strong brand, corporate identity and public affairs in healthcare
Week 3 Corporate communication, as a managerial function, its channels and methods. Management communication, marketing communication, political communication, technical communication
Week 4 Healthcare organizations’ communication: communication between healthcare provider and patients
