Course Description
The course will build upon knowledge and skills developed in earlier courses, particularly in research methods and statistics in psychology. It will continue exposing students to the study of scientific methods particularly to experimental techniques in the behavioral sciences. This course will explore the fundamentals of psychological research, the logic of experimentation and the empirical approach, experimental design, and data analysis along with the application of these approaches in laboratory and non-laboratory settings. In addition sampling techniques, group assignment, statistical techniques involving comparing means, and interpreting results in the broader context of experimental research will be covered. This course is intended to provide first-hand laboratory experience. Students will participate in the design of experiments and the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data and report writing.
