Course Description

students will learn the sterilization methods classification of microorganisms, properties, structures, transmission routes and disease. Then, they will be given information about the mechanism for hospital infections, and the recent common nosocomial infection agents will be described. They will then be given the basic concepts on sterilization and disinfection methods. lot of heat in physical sterilization and dry sterilization with hot steam sterilization by filtration, sterilization by radiation, tyndallization, chemical sterilization and sterilization control, disinfectants used in the disinfection process, classification of disinfectant, disinfectant selection of an ideal disinfectant properties, mechanisms and effects on microorganisms disinfectant antimicrobial they create resistance mechanisms against microorganisms will be covered. Finally, sterilization and disinfection methods used in intensive care units and emergency departments will be described.
