Course Description

Advanced Wastewater Treatment is a graduate-level course that examines modern physical, chemical, and biological processes for the removal of emerging and persistent contaminants from wastewater. Topics include membrane technologies, advanced oxidation processes, nutrient recovery, and resource-efficient treatment systems. Emphasis is placed on process design, optimization, and integration within sustainable water management frameworks. Students develop critical skills in evaluating treatment performance, interpreting data, and applying advanced technologies to meet stringent environmental regulations and support water reuse initiatives.
